WHAT IS A SITE SURVEY?
We’ll visit your warehouse before anything is bought, sold or agreed. We look at your existing racking or the space where your new racking will be installed, in person – because photos and phone calls miss the details that actually matter.
Racking isn’t one-size-fits-all. Bay widths, beam capacity and frame depths all differ between Link 51, Dexion, Redirack, Apex, Stow and other brands. Our site visit will catch any incompatibilities before you’ve spent a penny, not after it’s installed.
WHAT WE CHECK ON-SITE
- Your space and how it’ll be used — ceiling height, floor level, aisle width and fire escape clearance, so anything we recommend or install actually fits
- Racking type and brand — recommending the right type for an empty space, or identifying what’s already installed if you’re selling or keeping some
- Condition, where racking already exists — bent uprights, damaged beams, corrosion, missing clips, incorrect signage and other wear that affects safety or value
- Load capacity — matched to your actual pallet sizes and weights, whether we’re specifying new racking or valuing what you’ve got
- Consistency — flagging any mismatched or incompatible components, where multiple brands or systems are in play

I don't know what type of racking I need - can you still help?
Yes, that’s exactly what the survey is for. We’ll look at your space, how you plan to use it, and what you’re storing, then recommend a racking type e.g. adjustable, cantilever, drive-in, wide span etc., based on what actually fits.
You don’t need to arrive with the answer already worked out.
Is there any cost if I decide not to proceed after the survey?
No, not at all. Our site surveys are free regardless of what you decide to do afterwards, with no obligation to buy, sell or book any further work.
My racking is a mix of different brands - does that matter?
No this isn’t a problem.
If you’re looking to buy used racking to expand your existing setup, we can match bay sizes and upright specifications to what you already have in place, so everything stays compatible. If you’re starting fresh or don’t need to match anything existing, we can simply supply whatever racking type or brand best suits your space and budget.
And if you’re selling a mixed-brand system, that’s just as straightforward – we’ll assess and value each type separately during the survey.
How much does used racking cost compared to buying new?
It varies by brand, condition and quantity, but used racking is typically significantly cheaper than new while still meeting the same load and safety standards. This is why it’s such a common choice for warehouses managing costs carefully. We’ll give you an exact figure based on what your survey identifies.
How far do you travel for a site survey?
While we’re based in Willenhall and primarily serve businesses located in the West Midlands and Staffordshire, we do actually offer nationwide racking services.

Can you relocate racking to a different site?
Yes, if you’re moving premises and want to take your racking with you, pallet racking relocation is something we can assess and quote for during the same site visit.
