Used Pallet Racking Beams From Pallet Racking Systems

Need to add a level, replace a bent section or extend a run? Buying used pallet racking beams is a practical way to do it without paying for new steel. We supply used beams in a range of lengths and load capacities. You can match what you already have, or build a new run of bays.

Beams are the horizontal sections that carry your pallets. They lock into the uprights at set heights, and each level of a bay normally uses a pair. Every manufacturer has its own profile and connector, so the ones you choose must suit your system. We help you check this before you buy.

Lengths, Sections and Capacity

Common lengths run from around 1350mm to 3300mm, and 2700mm is one of the most popular. Sections vary too, with box and step profiles among the most common. The section changes how much each level can carry. Capacity is usually quoted per pair as a uniformly distributed load, and it depends on the length and the uprights the pair sits in. Tell us your pallet size and weight, and we will help you narrow it down.

Matching Your Existing Racking

Adding to an existing run? Note the height of the beam, its section and the type of end fixing. Fixings such as teardrop and hook-in styles are not interchangeable between systems. Send us a photo of a beam end and a measurement, and we can usually identify the system for you.

What To Check Before You Buy Used Beams

Used items show some marks, scratches and colour variation from previous use. What matters is structural condition. Look for bends, sagging, cracks near welds and damaged end connectors. A beam that is no longer straight should be rejected, and damaged items should not go back into service. Our guide to the signs your pallet racking is damaged explains what to look for.

Safety Locks and Safe Use

Every beam needs its safety lock or clip in place to stop it lifting out of the upright. Always check capacity against the manufacturer’s load data for that system. Racking should be inspected regularly by a competent, independent racking inspector. We can advise on what suits your pallets and building before you commit.

Need uprights, repairs or installation to go with your beams? We can help with those too. If you are clearing a site, we also buy second hand racking. Call 0800 085 8117 or request a quote with your sizes, and we will confirm what is in stock.
