Your warehouse storage space needs to be used to its maximum for getting the best return on your investment. The system you choose will depend on the size, weight and nature of the product you stock as well as the size and layout of your warehouse space.
Assuming you have products which can be stored in ambient temperatures, are not hazardous and need retrieving (as opposed to archiving), then pallet racking is probably the solution you need.
There are many types of pallet racking systems so here we provide an overview of the main types with links to more information on each.
Selective Pallet Racking
This is the most common form of warehouse storage because it is the cheapest to install and the most flexible. The ease of moving beams to change the height of the bays means that changes in the type of stock held can be easily accommodated. Find out more about Selective Pallet Racking
Cantilever Racking
Cantilever racking has an open design and flexibility of length that makes it ideal for storing long and heavy items which would not otherwise fit onto a pallet storage system. It can make up the complete warehouse storage or can be smaller part of a pallet racking system. How Cantilever racking is used depends on the type and quantity of products stored. Find out more about Cantilever Racking.
Double Deep Racking
Double deep pallet racking increases the potential capacity of a warehouse by storing products two rows deep instead of one row deep. Find out more about Double Deep Pallet Racking
Drive-In Racking
Drive-in pallet racking is often used for cold storage but can also be used where there are numerous pallets of the same product. Useful if there is limited space, drive-in racking can provide more dense storage when space is at a premium. Find out more about Drive-In Pallet Racking
Narrow Aisle Racking
Narrow aisle pallet racking is best used where floor space is limited. It can significantly reduce the amount of floor space required but may require extra investment in the form of specialist forklift trucks. Find out more about Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking.
Push Back / Dynamic Pallet Racking
Push Back or Dynamic pallet flow racking, is another warehouse storage system which helps to maximise warehouse storage capacity. Pallets are mounted on rails and set to a gradient which sends the first pallet to the back, so another can be stored in front. Find out more about Dynamic Pallet Flow Racking.
